In English (Print-Soundtranslation is not always regular) PhonologicalAwareness-PA, and Rapid AutomatizedNaming-RAN are the most potent predictors.In morphographic Chinese/Japanese Kanji (P-Stranslation is opaque) Visual Cognition is a morepotent predictor than PA/RAN. In contrast,Korean Hangul/Japanese Kana (P-S translation isregular) Visual Cognition, PA, RAN, and ReceptiveVocabulary are the best predictors. Thusorthography is the key to understand dyslexia.
