I work in the Business School at Huddersfield University. As a team of four Academic Skills Tutors, we support students on undergraduate and postgraduate courses including dyslexic students and increasing numbers of international students. I am currently developing a PhD proposal to explore the academic experiences and achievement of students in HE for whom English is their second language and to understand whether the nature of English itself presents particular difficulties.
